We’ll never know if Dmitri Shostakovich would have written for electric guitar, but this arrangement of Octet, Op. 11 (for double string quartet) makes you wonder if he would have found voice for his early works in a metal band – Shostakovich wrote this disorienting contemplative piece at age nineteen following the Russian Revolution.
